Running Replicator Agent Without Superuser Access

As of the Europium release, you have the option of running the Perspectium Replicator Agent through the Linux command line without superuser access (sudo). To execute Replicator Agent commands through the Linux command line without using sudo, follow these steps:

  1. Contact Perspectium Support to request a copy of the Agent cron files for running the Perspectium Replicator Agent without superuser access.
  2. Put the Agent cron files in the Perspectium_Replicator_Agent directory that was created upon installation of the Replicator Agent.
  3. Open the Terminal and change your current directory to the bin directory within the Perspectium_Replicator_Agent directory that was created upon installation of the Replicator Agent.
  4. Execute any of the commands indicated below:
Command Description
cronAgent.sh start Starts running the Replicator Agent
cronAgent.sh stop Stops running the Replicator Agent
cronAgent.sh status Displays the run status of the Replicator Agent within the command line window
cronCreate.sh create Creates a scheduled job that will automatically start the Replicator Agent upon rebooting
cronCreate.sh delete Deletes any scheduled jobs that were created using cronCreate.sh create
